August 21, 2019 - Explorer Pipeline announces 2020 nonprofit partner
Explorer Pipeline, a common carrier pipeline company headquartered in Tulsa, Okla., announced Iron Gate is the nonprofit selected for its Partner Agency Program. Iron Gate is a soup kitchen, grocery pantry, and Kids Pantry that provides a safe, friendly, and welcoming place for people of all ages in need of food assistance.
In Explorer's giving program, partner agencies are selected for a three-year rotating partnership with up to $20,000 in year one, up to $10,000 in year two and up to $5,000 in year three.
“By partnering with organizations like Iron Gate, we build lasting relationships while impacting people experiencing hunger in our own neighborhood,” said Tom Jensen, Explorer CEO. “Our employees at Explorer Pipeline are highly encouraged to volunteer alongside Iron Gate to further improve our community. In turn, we not only influence society on a business level, but on a personal level, as well.”
Explorer's three-year contribution to Iron Gate will provide healthy items for families in need, help maintain a consistent supply of fresh food, and help address the increased demand Iron Gate anticipates with the opening of its new building. Iron Gate relies on volunteers to execute its new mini-grocery store and Explorer employees will have the opportunity to volunteer their time to help Iron Gate serve additional guests.
“We're thrilled to partner with Explorer and look forward to working with its Tulsa employees,” said Carrie Vesely Henderson, Executive Director for Iron Gate. “As our organization grows to meet the needs in the community, this partnership will directly support the services we provide for our guests.”
Explorer has supported a significant number of nonprofit organizations throughout its history. The company primarily serves its local communities through involvement in the United Way and has created the Partner Agency Program to strategically focus its giving strategy. Partner agencies must have 501(c)(3) status, be established before 2013 and focus on one of the following areas: STEM and education, health and human wellness, inclusion and diversity, or family and youth.
