June 5, 2018 - Explorer Pipeline Completes Capacity Expansion on Texas Refined Products System
Explorer Pipeline announced today the company completed a new phase of projects to provide additional capacity on its 10-inch system from the Houston area to the Arlington, Texas area. Explorer added a minimum of 10,000 barrels per day of additional capacity to this system. This capacity is currently available to existing and walk-up shippers.
Explorer has focused several recent projects on the 10-inch system in response to increased shipper demand for refined products in the growing Central and North Texas corridors.
“We continue to invest in improving our efficiencies and enhancing operations system-wide,” said Tom Jensen, Explorer CEO. “Explorer is focused on meeting the needs of its shippers and looks for innovative ways to accomplish that goal.”
Explorer Pipeline is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has approximately 200 employees. It transports refined petroleum products through a 1,900-mile pipeline system extending from Port Arthur, Texas to the upper Midwest and serving major markets, including Houston, Dallas, Tulsa, St. Louis and Chicago. The southern system currently has a capacity of 660,000 barrels per day and the northern system currently has a capacity of 450,000 barrels per day.
